Its kind of an honerably idea Lee, but I can see a few flaws.
1: Like it or not most people going to the job centre are low skilled people, this means companies will not need your service as all they need to do is place a free add on Reed or something similar and get like 50 applications.
2: Who would be paying you, the governemnt, the compnanies?
3: In my expereince it is a bit risky to deal with candidates from the job centre, I prefer to hae candidates who have responded to an add or who I have sourced.
4: I think the amount of work you put in will not be worth the reward. |

Why do you assume the local Job Centres would work with you? And anyway, I think Reed have or had a contract with Job Centre Plus to get their long term unemployed back to work. I don't think it works either.
Your idea has no intrinsic value-add ...to anyone really.
Did it take you long to think this idea up? |

Hi
Thank you for your comments and this is the same feedback I am getting from some other sources.
It was only the other night that I got talking with a friend and they have been unemployed for a number months they have worked for some High Profile Companies doing Recruitment, Call Centre, etc... and they mention the idea and we talked about for a while, I did say it sounds a good idea but why would people/companies want people that are not skilled when they can source these people themselves.
As I have said it was only an Idea and thought I would see what the general feel is - and to be honest I don't think it would be a good option to go down given the feedback I have had.
I would like to thank you for input.
Cheers

The Job Centre takes over the role as a processor of job applications for pooly skilled people (mainly) and have experience of this for decades. Your proposal is just a rehash of current procedures adopted by them.
I would think you would struggle to get a business deal with JV plus I think you would be tearing you hair out within a few days with these problems:
1) Lack of business (Why do you think JC will deal with you?)
2) Lack of take up for your franchise (most wont see your idea will work for them)
3) Jobseeker apathy (Most do NOT want a job)
4) Poor Candidate Quality
I would leave that market well alone.
Half of the regular job seekers are so arrogant I wouldn't even speak to them let alone deal with them

I have seen this model work in Australia but that is because the employers get a financial incentive to take somebody who was long term unemployed and the recruitment agency also gets paid by the government. Unless you have the same government involvement your business is doomed to fail.

There is your business model then. If you can sift out all the dross of the long term unemployed and provide employers with a reasonable quality of person then you have a USP which will see them a thousand quid better off. Best thing to do would be to offer a flat rate recruitment service and concentrate on volume recruitment. Personally its not the type of recruitment i would enjoy doing but i very wise person once said, "where there's muck there's money" |
