The purpose of the UK Recruiter discussion board
is to give recruiters the opportunity to discuss issues relating to their jobs
and the recruitment industry in the UK.
Whilst providers of goods and services to the
industry are welcome to partake in the discussions they should not use this
forum for advertising.
Please read and adhere to the board's guidelines which you will see when you click to "start new topic"

I did some costing for a client last year.
It all depends though on what they use, how bog they are, how many jobs they advertise per month etc....
There are many aspects, but per job I reckon if they use paid advertising like a job board or newspaper. Add the fact that they obviously need to employ someone to sift CV's and organise feedback and interviews. I would say roughly £500 per job if they use paid advertising. |

The CIPD normally produce an annual Recruitment & Retention survey.
The latest figures I have are for the 2007 survey which details 2 elements for recruitment cost for different levels of recruitment (new or replacement staff), the average for all employees is:
- Cost of recruitment (advertising, agency or search fees) = £4,333
- Cost of labour turnover (vacancy cover, recruitment/selection, training and induction costs) = £7,750
