Hi

As a recruiter or jobboard
is it worth implementing broadbean ...now it is owned by jobsite

I was looking at the intregration costs...
seems high for nearly £4,000

So currently chewing over ...is it worth it
are there better alternatives...etc
and are there better applicant tracking tools you can implement onto a recruitment website
thanks

Please have a look at http://www.jobshout.co.uk/ which has broadbean integrated already ( we push jobs to broadbean automatically and their is a way to avoid the £4000 integration depending upon what you want to do )

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to say that the post above isnt exactly correct. We were charging £3,995.00 for job board integration long before we were acquired by AND.

Feel free to drop me a mail or give me a call if you require anymore information.

Thanks, Dan

It’s not £4k its £ 3,995 – now that is arrogant

Job boards should not pay £4k to the daily mail for integration, it’s not worth it and to correct you Dan, whilst technically you may claim you were charging £4k before the takeover , be honest, charging of this level was a very recent thing it wasn’t going on for long was it.

When Broadbean came to the market, it was free to integrate; once you had a large number signed up you then started charging a grand for the service. To ramp integration fees up now to £4k is a total rip off – you can’t possibly justify that level of fee for the work involved.

Likewise, a good number of recruiters are also finding the fees excessive from the other side and looking for more cost effective alternatives.

Also, job sites should consider that by paying to integrate with Braodbean they are also giving their intellectual data away to a direct competitor. This is by far the biggest problem now more so than chunking up the £4k they want.

It’s the equivalent of a small shop keeper doing well on sales of certain sweats and sending a copy of their sales report each week to Tesco. I can’t think of any other industry where this would occur and to charge you for the privilege of it!

Let’s put this into further perspective shall we. This is a simple script that will allow recruiters to upload their jobs to more than one site at a time nothing more. Recruiters should do this in the most cost effective way possible

If you need a multi posting tool I would look at:-

Idibu - http://uk.idibu.com/
Jobmate - http://www.jobmate.biz/
Posting pal - http://www.postingpal.com/
WebCruit - http://www.thehealthyalternativetobeans.co.uk/

The above are the four main competitors of Broadbean and all offer a much more cost effective service on every count from both the recruiter’s side and the integration side

Good Luck

Perhaps Broadbean will soon be re-branded 'hasbeen' as other companies are providing the same services for far less money. Idibu for me too!

Be very careful about who you choose as a software partner. Its worth doing a credit check on any supplier in todays market place as you have to make sure that they will be there for the long term.

Most job boards are dubious about paying another job board company to integrate; commercial crazy.

Try www.equest.com

Much bigger than Broadbean and have access to 20,000 corporate posters - more lucrative(although many of those also in EC). They quoted our board £1,800 to integrate(and test thoroughly), OK, for corporate. And they are independent - data is safe!!

Office in London somwhere.

We looked into it but the costs are stupidly prohibitive. I also hate how many of these software providers fail to make clear what the costs of using their services is.

Hi,

My experience with BroadBean has always been good, I think a lot of the time you get what you pay for.

I know the initial outlay sounds expensive but as a Job Board you have to be compatible with what your customers use.

80% of the time I get asked this question by our customers:

"Are you integrated with BroadBean?"

The remaining 20% of the time is Idibu, Jobmate etc, which is fine as we are also integrated with them.

So i guess as a job board the answer would be yes as it makes sense to meet your customers needs.

We find not only are idibu cheap but friendly, helpful and very easy to use. We trialled BroadBean last year and found them impossible to deal with. I am sure not everyone's expereince is the same, but certainly for us it seems bigger is not always better.

As always it is horses for courses

As a Job board
The £4k that I think you are all speaking about is the cost of a Jobbard integrating to receive posts from Broadbean, given its user base and its a way to get agencies to try your board easily and without hassle it would seem worth it unless the board is on a shoe string or is a hobby site!

As a recruiter
What is it you want it to do, if it is just post jobs out then look for something that does this, if you want tracking and posting look for something that does this, if you want posting, tracking and searching then .... and finally if you want posting, tracking, searching and control of costs then you find it hard to get a competitor to BB.

I dont work for BB and we have a number of our agency clients using BB and they get a good service and a good product, however Everyone would like Everything cheaper at the moment! It comes down to how well you use the applications?
